Working with addictive behaviour and thinking in a Person-Centred way

The aim of this workshop is to take some of the fear out of working with clients who may be living with addiction or may have experienced it in the past. This could be the client themselves who is or was involved in addictive behaviour and thinking, or friends and family members coming into counselling because they need support regarding a loved-one's current or historical addictive behaviour.

We will explore ideas about how we define addiction and how it can be treated, while considering how we, as counsellors, fit into the clients' recovery.

This will be a participatory workshop and participants are encouraged to think of client work that they would be prepared to share with their colleagues in a confidential setting.
