Information for members

As of the 15th of May 2023, we have officially changed our name to the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS).

Our new and improved website is coming soon!

The Government have just announced that they will be investing £150 million in mental health services up to April 2025. While it is heartening to read that they are committed to improving the mental health of the country and supporting those in crisis, we believe that investing in preventative mental health care and support - including cutting waiting times for talking therapy, improving choice and autonomy for those seeking support, and moving away from an essentially one-size-fits-all solution - would have a huge, positive knock on effect when it comes to crisis services, reducing the number of people that actually get to a crisis point.

There are upwards of 60,000 counsellors and psychotherapists on Accredited Registers across the UK that are qualified to do this work already, and we're calling on the Government to recognise this.

The Society has been campaigning on this for a nearly a decade now, and we will continue to do so until we see positive change.
