New Training Opportunities For NCS Members

We are delighted to announce an exciting new partnership with our latest organisational member, The EMDR Centre, to offer an exclusive training opportunity for NCS members. We are aware that in the past, a number of members have been interested in completing EMDR training.

Together with the EMDR Centre, we are pleased to offer an exclusive launch opportunity. Only available to NCS registrant members, the course will take place in London on Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th October 2018.

Additional course dates will be available in the future.

This weekend seminar is intended for Registrants of the NCS only who wish to learn more about EMDR in theory and in practice.

EMDR basic training Module 1: 27th and 28th October 2018

Requirements:

. Basic knowledge in psychotherapy

. A registrant of the National Counselling Society (Accredited, Accredited Professional, Senior Accredited or Fellow)

The content of the training:

. What is EMDR? How does EMDR work?

. Indications and contra-indications

. Safety precautions and side-effects of EMDR

. EMDR in trauma therapy/coaching

. What is trauma? How is it caused? What are the signs of trauma?

. Building up and activating inner resources

. Methods of psychological stabilisation

. EMDR techniques for coping with everyday life and as a future resource

. Transference and counter-transference with EMDR

. Dealing with blockages and resistance during an EMDR session

. The EMDR standard protocol in theory and practice

. Live demonstration

After the weekend, you will already be able to implement the EMDR standard protocol and basic techniques into your work.

Those who take to EMDR and want to use the method more in counselling can build and expand the knowledge already learned by completing modules 2 and 3.
