Hello, my name is Jurgita Dobiliene. I grew up in Vilnius, Lithuania. After training as a nurse and working as an oncology nurse for 10 years, I desired to expand my nursing practice and gain further experience in Europe. So, eighteen years ago, my life's journey brought me to the UK, where I have been working as a registered nurse and integrative therapist with a focus on palliative care and grief counselling.
As a nurse, I became aware of how crucial it is to be able to offer individuals competent psychological assistance and assist them in coping with their emotions and feelings. I became interested in psychology and philosophy and wished to learn more about the nature of the human mind so that I could assist my patients with their issues and give them the tools they needed to face their challenges and overcome them so they can have happier and more fulfilling lives.
I completed my studies in hypnotherapy and counselling to earn an Advanced Professional Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling. After finishing my education, I became a Cruse Bereavement Care volunteer and have been supporting bereaved people for over ten years.
I have been assisting my clients with severe grief and unexpected loss, helping bereaved persons to navigate through different stages, types, and intensities of their grief journeys. I have also been working with grieving people one-on-one and facilitating Bereavement Support Groups.
The differences in age, gender, religion, ability, culture, class and personality of my clients greatly enhanced my experience and deepened my understanding of each client's diversity and uniqueness. I was able to gain a deeper understanding of the many layers of grief, realising that loss is not an end but a part of a transformation journey.
I support my clients in variety of ways and describe myself an integrative therapist. I believe there is no one-size-fits-all approach that can help all clients in all situations. Rather, each person must be viewed as a whole, and treatment techniques must be tailored to individual needs and personal circumstances.
My therapy style emphasises respect and empathy. Each client is unique, and it is very important to me that they feel safe, respected and understood enough to be open about their thoughts and feelings.
In my therapeutic practice I apply Person Centred Approach, Mindfulness, Cognitive-behavioural Therapy (CBT)and Compassion-focused therapy methods. I use Havening Touch and Heart Focused Breathing Techniques. In addition, I employ modalities such as Emotional Freedom Tapping (EFT tapping), EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) and Flash technique.
My therapy focuses on a deeper understanding of each client's unique needs and recognition of their resilience. It is my privilege and passion to bring healing to those who have experienced trauma. I strongly believe that everyone already has the ability to heal and that therapy with me is a healing journey.
