As a Snr Accredited NCS member and an accredited and UKCP registered Psychotherapeutic Counsellor I work with many difficulties which you might bring. I now specialise in working with people who have experienced trauma and PTSD and I am an accredited EMDR Practitioner. The latter is a cutting edge therapy to help with trauma issues. My focus is in creating a truly helpful and purposeful relationship in which to help you increase your inner sense of well-being and make the changes you want. I work with adult individuals and couples.
Well-being means many things to many people, but for me personally, this includes a positive sense of self and a sense of satisfaction in a life free from and uncluttered by ongoing, deeply held difficult feelings.
I utilise a wide variety of methods I have at my fingertips, and now especially with EMDR, I can help you reduce or completely clear your problems. My uniquely personal approach has evolved and been refined over 30+ years and is still open to further change. My approach is underpinned by a calming and respectful relational style.
My experience includes running Co-Counselling Groups, Counselling Skills Training Groups and other personal growth groups focussing on Parenting, Communication Skills, The Mind-Body Connection & also Developing a Sense of Soul.
I have also published a small book which is available from Amazon. It is called:
"The Development of the Psyche and its Impact on Health - Interweaving Archetype Psychology & Neuroscience."
I offer supervisory support to counsellors - both fully qualified or student counsellors.
For the last 20 years I have provided Short-Term Counselling for employees nationwide whilst working for various Employee Assistance Programmes in different capacities. I am thus aware of many of the issues facing individuals in the corporate world and how personal issues may impact upon your working life. I also accept referrals from various Private Medical Insurance companies.
And finally I involve myself with my profession by working on a committee which verifies an individual counsellors' suitability to be included on the UKAHPP organisation's ordinary and accredited register. (UK Association for Humanistic Psychology). Like NCPS this has been approved by the PSA (Professional Standard's Authority).
