I am a person-centred counsellor which means I feel you are the best expert in your life. My role is not to diagnose or solve your issues, but to support you in the process of change and help facilitate the journey.
Counselling gives you the opportunity to explore your thoughts and feelings in a safe place. To bring about healing and integration. I can offer a calm, compassionate approach, one that is free of judgement, where you can bring your problems and anxieties.
I offer several years experience working in the areas of abuse, and loss and bereavement; loss is a key feature in all counselling situations where people feel vulnerable and anxious.
I am also a trained focusing professional, and mindfulness teacher.
Mindfulness is the practice of cultivating non-judgemental awareness in day-to-day life. As a mindfulness teacher I will teach you practices that decrease suffering and bring greater balance and peace.
A focusing approach involves sensing how personal situations are felt in the body as well as what we think about them. It can, when needed, provide a safe way of being with an experience, even one which is disturbing, it can help when we feel overwhelmed and don't know how to manage, creating clarity and a way forward.
