You may be wondering whether counselling is for you, and whether you feel that you are able to talk to a complete stranger about your own personal situation. You may be feeling overwhelmed or confused about how you can cope or make any decisions about how to change things for the better.
I experienced these same thoughts and feelings, having taken the step to go to counselling at a difficult point in my life however years later this positive experience led me to taking a different route in my life to become a qualified counsellor.

If you are struggling with anxiety, depression, anger, relationships, grief, bereavement, low self-esteem,or low self-confidence, then together in counselling we can work through this.
Within the sessions, we will focus on creating a therapeutic relationship that is based on trust and building rapport, in a safe, confidential and comfortable environment to provide you with support and understanding.
Together we will explore your thoughts and feelings, giving you the space to reflect, and consider different approaches. We will untangle experiences that may have been difficult, painful or challenging in the past or that are facing you currently and find ways that you are comfortable with, to give you renewed confidence and energy to move forward positively and healthily for you.
Talking with someone who is experienced, empathetic and understanding, who will listen without judgement, providing you with a safe space to open up about anything that you have been unable to speak about, particularly when the situation is distressing for you, can be a very therapeutic experience in itself. It may be that this is all you need to enable you to make sense of the situation and be able to take the steps to make the changes you seek.
For others, the counselling journey takes a longer and more detailed exploration into your past, identifying your core values and beliefs to understand more about what is causing your current distress,or dilemma, for you to be able to begin the process of learning new ways of thinking and behaviours that will bring about positive change.
