My name is Maz Connolly and it is my belief as a counsellor and yoga teacher that we all have the power within us to heal ourselves. There are, however, times when we need a bit more guidance to do that and as a registered counsellor with the National Counselling Society that’s what I aim to do. Being an accredited yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance International (CYT500) as well as a counsellor, I am a holistic practitioner with a strong belief in the link between mind-body-spirit and how they impact on our physical and mental health, so therapy with me would look at all areas of your well-being not just your mind.

I have trained in a variety of therapeutic approaches including Humanistic, Psychodynamic, Cognitive Behavioural and Transactional Analysis and I have also completed training in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, Mindfulness Based CBT and Mindful Coaching. Currently I am studying MSc in Psychology in Mental Health and Wellbeing. This means that I am able to tailor my approach to suit your needs and help you achieve your therapeutic goals. That said, the main focus of my work is the relationship I have with you, my clients, regardless of your age. As far as I am concerned you are the expert on you and I will let you guide and direct our work, with me alongside you as an ally for a little extra support when you need it.

As well as being an accredited adult counsellor and yoga teacher I am also a qualified children's counsellor. I have extensive experience working with children and young people within a school setting, in my private practice and online with teenagers. When working with children I use a range of techniques including play therapy, role play, sand play, art and story telling.

I offer online and telephone counselling. For many clients this offers greater flexibility and can, for some, feel like an easier entry into the world of therapy. I also provide 'Walk & Talk' therapy for clients who feel more comfortable talking while being active. This is a service I currently provide in Lowndes Park - Chesham and Regent's Park - Central London, however, if there is another location you feel would work better for you, we can discuss this together. I do have an office at my home that is available for yoga and hypnotherapy work.

My yoga classes are all trauma informed and body positive. I have a big interest in how yoga can improve mental health, especially conditions such as anxiety and depression, and for this reason I offer combined yoga and therapy sessions which last 75 minutes. These are very much tailored to your individual needs.

If you are looking for support for yourself, a loved one, or just have a general interest in how counselling may benefit you please feel free to contact me on My name is Maz Connolly and it is my belief as a counsellor and yoga teacher that we all have the power within us to heal ourselves.
