I am a fully qualified Counsellor specialised in mental health issues.
I possess 18 years of working experience within the mental health sector. I worked for the NHS within a large multi-disciplinary Community Mental Health Team offering psycho-social interventions to individuals with a clinical diagnosis.
I worked for several Charities Organisations such as MIND, Carers Centres, the Drugs and Alcohols Services for London, and EAP services.I have also been a group facilitator for many years.
Within my professional practice I demonstrate sensitivity to individual differences when working with clients of diverse ethnicity, gender, religion, sexual orientation and cultural background, treating all people with unconditional positive regards and respect.
I work holistically with the individual, acknowledging the complexity of being human, as I believe that people are more than their diagnosis. I have the ability to work with clients with complex needs experiencing emotional and psychological unbalance. I use an Integrative approach, drawing from a variety of psychological interventions such as Gestalt Therapy, Person-Centred Counselling, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) techniques, according to the specific needs of the client in any particular moment.
I believe people have all the necessary resources within themselves to fully recover and achieve their goals in life. My role is to facilitate that self awareness and inner connection.
