My name is Wanda Alvares. I am an Integrative Psychotherapeutic Counsellor in private practice. At the present moment I am working towards my Doctorate/PhD in Integrative Medicine/Natural Medicine. I look forward to make use of these higher skills and knowledge to help my clients.
In counselling my approaches include the Person Centered model , CBT-Congnitive Behavioural Therapy, Gestalt, Psychodynamic approach and the Humanistic approach. I am also an experienced Accredited Hypnotherapist. An experienced Accredited Member with the NCS, I have experience in working with people with a wide range of issues. I believe that each one of us is unique with very special qualities and unique needs and hence the counselling models I apply in my approach to counselling is dependent on your unique needs and your personal goals and your personality. My theoretical education and continuous professional development and hours and hours of practical experience, as an integrative counsellor has helped me support my client's to address their unique issues and witness their success and achieve their goals. In counselling more than in any other area, paying attention to each one's uniqueness is key to a successful counselling outcome, is what I have observed and learnt. Talk to me if you are going through anything that is negatively impacting your life and together lets find the solutions to help you heal and feel better. There is always a solution to everything in this world if we only take the necessary steps to find that solution. Talk about it because sometimes all it takes is simply talking about it with someone you trust. However when you speak with a counsellor (The right one of-course ) things feel and get a lot better in a systematic professional confidential way. You need a counsellor who will listen to you without judging you and whose approach has a foundation based on empathy and kindness in an environment where you feel safe and comfortable. This is how I approach my counselling sessions with my clients be it online or in person.
PS. I would like to share here with you that during these difficult covid days, I am offering counselling at a very nominal fee to anyone going through a difficult phase. Please talk to me freely about your specific requirements in this regard if you wish.
