CYPT

You find yourself here because you're feeling stuck with problems and anxieties that are affecting how you think, feel and behave. My name is Tam, I am an experienced Counsellor in Private Practice and a large NHS commissioned young persons organisation. If you would like to have a read below and then get intouch for a free 20 minute consultation where you will get a warmer sense of who I am and how I can help you.

Life can sometimes feel overwhelming, with anxieties and problems that can really impact our lives taking the wind from our sails. You might avoid doing things that make you feel anxious and you can probably relate when I say does anxiety send you into mind loops of "what if's" or "should of's" creating more anxiety and panic. Or the inner critic that makes you feel not good enough, creating low self-esteem and low mood.

How I can help you

Together we will work to rebuild the courage and confidence that you have within you and take control of your anxiety and any other problems. To gently rebalance your emotional system and make positive life changes. We might look at past events and different stages of your life that have impacted and influenced how you think, feel and behave in today's world. You will have a much clearer understanding of why things are the way they are and how they're not your fault. We will work on your strengths and how you can use these more in different areas of your life.

My Experience

I have a wealth of experience working with all problems and specialising in anxiety. I work in private practice for adults & teenagers and a large NHS-commissioned young people's organisation. I have been a school counsellor with place2be working in secondary and junior schools and I am highly experienced in working with suicidal ideation, self-harm and high risk.
I have also worked with the NHS youth counselling service for a number of years as well as helping to run their early help counselling hub.

How I Work

I am an integrative counsellor which means I can use different models of Counselling that best suit you and what we are working with. These include CBT, Person centred, Transactional Analysis, Solution Focused Brief, Compassion Focused and Psychodynamic
