As an integrative (mixed approach) psychotherapeutic counsellor, I have an interest in supporting children, young people and adults who are going through challenging times. So, in extending my initial training, I recently completed Levels 1 & 2 in Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP). DDP focuses on the needs of the child or young person who has experienced adverse childhood events (ACEs) or attachment issues. These children and young people, whilst now living with their second family (e.g., foster-carer(s) or adoptive), may find it difficult to settle because of their previous experiences. Therefore, by refocusing the attention away from behaviour management, coaching is given to their nurturer(s) on how to build healthier relational bonds.

Please feel free to contact me if you would like to talk about your needs and how I might be able to assist you.
