Before becoming a therapist, I was a primary school teacher for twenty years, which included work as a SENCO and Inclusion Leader. This included providing support and working with families of neurodiverse children. I then decided to train as a counsellor, which has included working with a range of diverse clients, including LGBTQ+.
My aim is to offer you a nurturing, and supportive experience at a pace, that suits you. I recognise the importance of building trust in the therapeutic relationship and being inclusive is vital. I will ensure sessions are created which are culturally aware, and ethical.
I would like to help you, improve the quality of your life by guiding you through any challenging moments, and help you recognise the source of positive growth, comes from within you.
My offer as your therapist, is be there as your guide, to listen, and ensure you feel heard. If however, you have a preferred way of working, we can discuss how therapy sessions maybe created to suite your needs. What is most important is finding an approach together, that works for you. It maybe, that you are not sure what it is you want to begin with, that’s fine, we can work through that too. I am not here to embarrass, or make judgments, only to value and respect what you bring to the therapy space.
