•I aim to offer you a nurturing, and supportive approach at a pace, that suits our journey. The importance of building trust in the therapeutic relationship is vital. I offer a space where challenging moments can be explored in an honest, welcoming, non-judgmental environment. I would like to help you, improve the quality of your life by guiding you through any challenging times, and help you recognise the source of positive growth, comes from within you.
• I am not here to tell you what to do, or be the expert, I will be there as your guide to listen, and offer support. If however, you have a preferred way of working, we can consider how therapy sessions maybe created to suite your needs. For example, some clients have found having a space to just talk was enough, whereas others preferred having goals and targets. Sometimes the journey can/will be challenging, this is expected, so the pace of a session can be adjusted to ensure you are safe. What is most important is finding an approach together, that works for you. It maybe that you are not sure what it is you want from therapy to begin with, that’s fine, we can work through that too.
• Life is tough. We have days when we appear to be coping well, and others when we might feel stuck and unable to function. I can help you to explore your anxieties, fears and/or stresses, and uncover the possible reasons behind this. Depression can have similarities and differences. I would like to know what it is like for you. I would like to help you find ways to identify and manage your symptoms. Have you experienced loss, which can manifest in various ways. Loss through trauma, identity, bereavement, employment or a physical loss. Would you like to improve relationships with others, including yourself, and reach a point of acceptance. Self-acceptance and awareness are key to our development, I would like to help you form a positive attitude to yourself. I am not here to embarrass or make judgments, only to value and respect what you bring to the therapy space.
