Ianto McGuckin | Accredited Professional Counsellor | Congleton | NCS

Ianto McGuckin

Member Status: Accredited Professional

Member No: NCS18-07410

Location: Congleton

I hold Professional Accreditation status with the National Counselling Society (NCS). Additionally, I am subscribed to multiple Accredited Registers (National Counselling Society (NCS), British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP)) that have been accredited by the Professional Standards Authority. Acceptance onto these registers demonstrates my commitment to high professional standards, to enhancing safety and delivering a better service.

I was awarded the MSc in Counselling and Psychotherapy from Keele University, itself a BACP accredited course (I do not hold professional accreditation status with the BACP, but I am a Member of the BACP).

I maintain enhanced DBS checks. I abide by the ethical framework of the NCS (Code of Ethics) and the BACP (Ethical Framework).

I work with some of the largest Employee Assistance Programmes (EAPs) in the UK, including Axa and CiC amongst others, Vitality Health Insurance and Aviva Health Insurance to deliver local help (via face to face, telephone and online services) and nationwide help (via telephone and online services).

Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is very important to me and I regularly attend professional development days, workshops and courses.

I feel that I have (and that we all have) a lot of very varied life-experience, which taught me that not only is it 'good to talk' - it can be vital. I believe that psychological and emotional well-being is just as important as physical well-being. I believe that you, as the client, need your own space to discover yourself and understand what YOU need, and though I can help facilitate this process, you must be prepared to work for yourself within therapy, and reap your own rewards. I believe it is most important that you find the right therapist for you before you begin your journey of healing.
