I currently work in private practice as well as a tutor at the Devon and Cornwall Counselling Hub. My previous background experience has been: working with adult GP referrals; counselling students at a local FE college and as a school counsellor working with young people. Before I qualified as a counsellor, I worked in a primary school as a Thrive Practitioner helping children with social and emotional challenges.
I believe that relationship is very important in counselling work; my approach is to build a trusting and honest relationship, in a space that feels safe to enable you to explore, reflect and make sense of what is on your mind or what is felt in your body. I work creatively and holistically to focus on making connections between mind, body and emotion - what is felt and noticed within as well as thoughts and feelings. I believe when you feel a deeper sense of connection and understanding between your thoughts, feelings, body and environment; you can experience a greater sense of wellbeing.
