I provide a safe, caring and confidential counselling service for Adults, Young people and Children over the age of 11. I use a combination of Psychotherapy, Humanistic and cognitive Modalities to help you to understand why you think they way you do. I am also trained in EFT, Sound therapy , NLP and Trauma awarenesses. My practice is based in a rural location allowing me to work with clients either indoors or outside. I offer walking and talking therapy, or interacting with the Horses we have on site .
Being around horses can be a way of developing a deeper understanding of how the fight or flight response affects both humans and animals . Most people feel some degree of fear, when they first meet the horses and this can affect them both physically and emotionally. Gradual exposure can have a remarkable effect, building confidence in the person as they learn to trust them self and the horse .
During my training ,I spent a year working as a Counsellor in an Academy school providing much needed counselling to 12-18 year olds. Since qualification, I have developed my private practice working with Adults and children from my home base near Braintree in Essex . I also produce and deliver Trauma awareness training for the school staff and believe that all children should have access to safe and caring counselling services. Part of my commitment to Children and young peoples mental health is challenging poor provision of mental health support in schools and lobbying both the Government and the Opposition parties to develop standard practice mental health support in all Schools.
