MBACP, Dip Couns, Integrative Approach.

I am a fully qualified professional integrative counsellor and an individual member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy. I adhere to their ethical framework and legal guidelines and principles. I am committed to professional development to support me in my work, for clients best interests and wellbeing. This includes a commitment to regular on-going supervision, to maintain a good quality of care for my clients. Counselling is a 2 way process to help make changes to improve quality of life, manage stressful situations differently and cope in times of crisis. The integrative modalities I use are adapted to suit the individual’s needs, using Humanistic, Psychodynamic and Cognitive and Behavioural Therapies. I work in a person centred way, I do not give advice, it is client led, i work with you to help you find your own answers, so you are empowered to make your own choices. You are the expert in your own life, so your best interest is at the heart of everything... The approach I use, helps through difficult emotions and feelings, in a safe and confidential environment, where we can explore ways to help create change and growth. I work with empathy, congruence in a non-judgemental way, to establish a therapeutic relationship. We can explore issues or problems that feel overwhelming, due to past traumas, present feelings, or behaviours... Finding ways to bring meaning, self-awareness and understanding, so you can move forward through life’s difficulties and challenges, you are presently facing.
