I have found a good counsellor-client relationship is core to successful counselling. I therefore place great store by the initial free phone or Zoom meeting as a ‘get to know’ session for both sides, where we will also explore how best I could support you.

I will not claim to cure illness or erase life problems, but I can help you to cope positively with them through exploring different perspectives and developing new insights, enabling you to feel better about yourself and to live with purpose, despite the hardships you face.

If your goal is to live a more satisfying and fulfilling life, largely free from negative feelings, I can assist you.

As well as being a qualified counsellor to diploma level and a psychotherapist, I’m also a certified online and telephone counsellor, a bereavement volunteer for Cruse Bereavement Support and a listening volunteer for the Samaritans. My clients are adults, men and women (I particularly welcome older adults) who realise they need support in dealing with a broad range of life challenges such as anxiety, depression, bereavement, low self-esteem, anger, loneliness, or work related stress.

I can see clients in-person in Exeter and Budleigh Salterton, subject to availability of spaces. I also offer online sessions via Zoom, or phone sessions for people in remote locations without a stable internet connection, who are not able to travel.

In summary, the way I approach counselling is person-centred, aiming to help you make the most of your life and improve relationships with others. Most importantly, I want you to take control of your own mental health and wellbeing.
