Much of my interest lies in helping people develop a sense inner strength and self evaluation that doesn't rely on changeable, outside influences and factors, but on a consistent ability to contact find peace and worth within. This often requires working on self awareness and self compassion that enables habitual, detrimental patterns to be recognised and altered. Many of these patterns and behaviours develop in early years as away of coping, but can become stuck, default settings - even when no longer needed or appropriate.

No matter what life throws at us, we each have the power to change for the better, our internal narrative and outlook. Everything that happens to us is viewed through the lens of our minds, so having our minds work for us and not against, is a very useful skill to cultivate.

Meditation and mindfulness are very effective tools to create a distance and separation from our essential selves, and negative/repetitive thoughts and painful emotions, that often follow. We are not our thoughts. It's possible to become a curious observer and not captured and entangled by them. Harmful or false Psychological structures that have accumulated as a result of our experiences can be re-shaped through acceptance and understanding.

I often combine CBT with mindfulness meditation to enable a greater awareness of our own minds and reactions in each moment, with an ability to step to the side and create a different perspective.

I endeavour to work in a very tailored (and sometimes creative) way that responds to the unique set of circumstances and experiences we accumulate throughout our lives. The work could consist of focusing on past events in an effort to gain an understanding of how we came to be where and who we are, as well as helping to give a voice and recognition to subconscious narratives and feelings that can work away behind the scenes, colouring our lives without us even realising it. Greater awareness can open the door to many more, previously unseen, alternatives and paths that can be explored and maybe turned into viable and lasting positive changes.

In my work with couples, I try to foster a positive atmosphere that recognises the many external and historical factors that can distort even the best of relationships. A third party can be very useful to create the firebreak often needed to be able see other alternatives and perspectives rather than be locked into adversarial patterns.

My role is always as a facilitator, and a strong emphasis is on collaboration. For positive changes to remain, they have to genuinely come from within, with belief.

I offer a lovely, private, rural location and the opportunity to express anything that's concerning you without the fear of judgement.
