I am a fully qualified integrative counsellor, which basically means that I can draw on different therapeutic theories to meet the needs of the individual clients I work with. The client is at the centre of every session and I will ensure that the therapeutic work will be tailored to the client’s needs and their presenting situation.

Before training to become a counsellor, I worked for a number of organisations which specialised in Family and Individual support for adults, children and young people. These experiences have provided me the valuable insight into the stress and pressures families and individuals may encounter due to their circumstances and ways in which to manage these difficulties.

I have completed 6 week Survivors of Childhood Sexual Abuse training course with Choices and have worked as a counsellor with them for the past year, providing weekly counselling sessions to clients. I also have experience with counselling clients who have been referred to JHD. These clients all present with very individual issues and circumstances and this is where it is so valuable to draw on my previous experiences, knowledge and skills to enable me to support the client in a positive and productive way.

I believe that Mental health is just as paramount as our physical health and sometimes we may need specialist support at certain times in our lives. If we had broken our leg, we would go and see a Doctor for support and help. Coming to see a counsellor is just as important when your mental health is fluctuating due to personal circumstances. I can provide a safe, confidential, non-judgemental place for you to talk and, most importantly, be heard.

During sessions with me you will have the opportunity to explore your thoughts, beliefs and feelings. Through the course of these therapeutic sessions, you will be able to reflect on your experiences and look towards making positive changes which will enable you to achieve positive mental and physical health.
