Beginning your counselling journey can be a huge step and takes great courage. I will honour this, offering you respect and care working at the right pace and in the right way for you.
I use a mix of therapeutic approaches to suit each individual client. Clients come to me for help with anxiety, depression, grief, relationship issues, and also to explore the bigger questions in life - who they are, what they believe, how they make meaning in this complicated world. Having been a meditation teacher I can support you in exploring or extending your mindfulness / awareness practice.
I see adults, young people, and occasionally work with couples too.
As an addition to my original Counselling Training, I am an IFS Therapist and love to work with this powerful (yet gentle) model. Internal Family Systems is a relatively new type of therapy in the UK but gaining respect rapidly. It is a way to understand your inner world and help it to transform and heal. "IFS is based on the principle that there is an undamaged, resourceful self at the core of every person and that accessing and working with that self is a safe, effective way to heal other, hurt parts of the mind." Please contact me for more information.
ASC / Aspergers
Over the years I have worked with many autistic people of all ages and am currently a Specialist Mentor for ASC students at the University of Bath. I have additional training in this area and enjoy working with ASC clients and their families.
I believe Nature is a powerful therapist and love to work with clients outside - walking and talking suits some people better than sitting in a chair!
