I am a friendly and qualified counsellor practicing in online with experience of working with a diverse range of clients within a confidential and non-judgemental environment. For me, the heart of counselling is a good relationship between client and counsellor. This helps to create a safe and respectful setting for exploration, reflection and understanding of what is important to you.
As we are all individual and unique, people will naturally need different things from counselling. I use an integrative, person-centred approach which means that we can work together in a way which best suits you, drawing from different techniques which will support you through the process of counselling. I will help you to reflect and explore to find your own solutions and your own methods of overcoming challenges.
I believe that counselling should be completely non-discriminatory and as part of this belief I work with a LGBTQ+ affirmative approach. I am a Senior Accredited member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) and I am on their Register of Practitioners. I also adhere to their ethical framework for good practice, attend regular professional supervision and ensure I take part in continuing professional development training.
I offer an initial session at a reduced rate. This is for us to discuss what has brought you to counselling and what your expectations of it are, as well as for you to be able to raise any questions or concerns you may have about counselling. It will also be a chance for us to meet and see if we will be comfortable working together. Sessions will then be arranged for a regular time each week. I provide both long and short term counselling.
