Chalene at Chameleon Coaching and Therapy offers a professional and confidential Psychotherapy, Counselling and Hypnotherapy service to clients throughout the local area. The organisation, which is located in Higham Ferrers, Rushden, was set up in 2012 and Chalene has 10 years of experience in the profession offering support for a number of mental and emotional issues to issues to couple, adults, children and teenagers.

Chalene has worked as a Hypnotherapist at the Northampton Clinic and a Counsellor for Mind in Rushden. Presently, she works as a susupervisor at Bower House Services in Market Harborough.

As an Integrative counsellor, I enjoy working organically, drawing on different therapeutic approaches such as CBT, Transactional Analysis, Mindfulness, Psychodynamic and Person Centred approaches that will help provide you with what you need to help you work through difficult issues.

Transactional Anaylsis is the therapeutic approach that informs my work the most as a counsellor. This approach is underpinned by the philosophy that people can change and that we all have the right to be in this world and to be accepted. I aim to help you understand how your past effects the way in which you treat yourself and the way in which you relate and communicate with others, offering suggestions and interventions which will enable you to change and to grow.

Some of the areas I offer support in are: weight-loss, smoking cessation, anxiety disorders and phobias, OCD, stress-management, pain-management, motivation and confidence building, relationship issues, anger-management, PTSD, trauma, public speaking, self-esteem. I also work with victims of sexual, physical and emotional abuse. I am also a Hypnobirthing Practioner.

I first worked as a Drama and English teacher in South Africa before moving to the UK. During this period she gained valuable experience working with children from disadvantaged and troubled backgrounds incorporating both theatre and drama therapy into her work.

Working extensively in the video, TV and film industry and running my own production company has given me invaluable insight into the issues facing women in the industry today from struggling with issues around sexism, maintaining a work/life balance, overcoming feelings of guilt returning to work, starting or running a business and improving health and fitness. Having worked with creative people both in the profession and as a counsellor and coach, I have helped and supported artists explore ways in which they can better flourish in their industry; overcoming fear of rejection, stage fright, improving health and personal body image, learning to quiet negative self-talk and to grow in confidence.

My passion is to enable you to overcome difficult circumstances in your life by creating a warm, safe and non-judgmental environment in which you can fully and freely express your feelings and thoughts. In so doing, my desire is for you to gain a clearer and more objective perspective of your life and goals so that you can find healing from the past and develop the life skills to better cope on a daily basis. I will support you in achieving your dreams and encourage you to discover, explore and realise your true, unlimited potential. I combine my skills in psychotherapy, counselling, hypnotherapy and coaching, as well as her own personal and work related experiences to provide you with a unique package to help you love the life you live and live the life you love.
