Client-centred psychotherapy is a perspective which emphasises looking at the whole individual, with the core concepts encompassing congruence, empathy and unconditional positive regard, as we explore the issues which have influenced your decision to embark on a therapeutic relationship.
It is a form of therapy which is client led and non-directive, meaning you have complete control of the path sessions will take, allowing you the freedom to explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences in a confidential, safe environment with a non-judgemental perspective.
You may question if counselling is the right approach for you and how engaging with a stranger can assist you in overcoming the challenges you face in life;
I personally chose the therapeutic path to overcome the obstacles which were holding me back and through this unique experience as a client I took the step of retraining as Hypnotherapist and Psychotherapist to enable me to assist others in the fashion I was supported.
In the years since I became a certified practitioner, I have taken on continued professional development-specialising in anxiety, depression, trauma, abuse, addiction, eating and dissociative disorders whilst working online with individuals and groups of clients, with sessions focusing on building a therapeutic relationship based on trust and rapport, as well as running online forums for survivors of trauma and dissociation-I am also currently engaged in my BSc (Honours) Psychology with counselling.
I am flexible, also working with people addressing a variety of challenges on a one-to-one basis and via the phone, as per the convenience of you, the client.
With collaboration, we can revisit the more difficult aspects of your life and your experiences with a view to help expand your understanding and self-awareness, reach a place of acceptance and embrace change as you go forward.
