It's sometimes hard to put into words exactly how you are feeling and what you are thinking. It's often even harder to respond when asked by family or friends as you might feel inclined to censor what you say for fear of worrying them or hurting their feelings. Or maybe you don't even feel that you have anyone that you could trust to talk to. This is why so many people find it easier to talk to trained counsellors or psychotherapists who offer a safe, empathic and confidential space to talk freely, without fear of being judged and where there isn't the potential emotional disconnect you might have discussing issues with family or friends.

I have been working as a counsellor for some 10 years, working primarily with adults. No two peoples' issues are the same so neither should their therapy be. I use a multi-model or integrative approach to support my clients on their therapeutic journey. I largely work face-to face indoors, sometimes online, but also work outdoors with clients. Being outside among nature, either doing a walk and talk, or sitting somewhere can be very useful, it can not only unlock memories and allow you to explore metaphors but it is also a calming and restorative environment that engages the senses in ways that being in a room can't.

I also offer hypnotherapy to help people rid themselves of habits like drinking or eating too much, or address fears like flying. It is also a useful relaxation tool to support people with anxiety.

Often the hardest part when you're struggling with an issue is having the courage to reach out and ask for help and support. If you contact me I can promise you that I'll listen and together we can agree what you would like to get out of talking to me.
