“Heal. So, we don’t have another generation of trauma passing itself off as culture.” – Carla Moore

We all carry traumas in life, and in fact we are constantly bombarded with trauma through the news, social media and the film and television entertainment industries.

It is not our fault that we have those traumas, since most of those traumas are transgenerational and they have been passed down from one generation to the next for centuries through stories and social “norms” in an endless cycle, and those traumas have been so embedded in society that they have been normalised to the point they’ve become part of the general cultural narrative of each country.

However, even though in the vast majority of situations we didn't traumatise ourselves (sometimes we choose to watch things that traumatise us like horror or drama movies, the news or horrible social media posts) and we need to become aware of those patterns because they affect our mental health and therefore our body health.

Chronic stress, which is also heightened in everyday life: at work, commuting & sometimes at home; it’s a big problem because when we constantly consume such negative content through news and movies, on top of all the daily stress, it becomes a new normal for us, and not only that, but it becomes "addicting" because of the adrenaline and cortisol the brain releases when we get angry, scared or stressed.

We all need to become responsible for our own mental health and heal ourselves of those traumas by becoming aware of what we consume through all of our senses (we need: healthy food, healthy music, being outdoors observing beautiful nature, feeling nature through touch and smells), we need to be mindful of our relationship patterns with ourselves and others in our lives, and our behaviour & thought patterns. Because they all have a major impact, not only on our mental health, but also on our physical health.

We all have the power to look within and inspect every aspect of how we live to change the parts that are damaging us.

If You feel ready to begin your journey of healing, I am here to be by your side every step of the way, in this challenging, yet most rewarding journey of your life.

Let's all break those cycles of trauma to heal ourselves and consequently the world!

"Disclaimer: Because I only work online, I can only help you with any kind of trauma that is either old (which means that you are not in a physical place/environment that poses a physical threat to you) or I can also help you with vicarious/secondary trauma through films & media consumption."
