My name is Ashley and I would like to tell you something about what I feel I can offer you.
I have been providing confidential therapy within private and voluntary settings for many years and therefore I have experience of working with a variety of issues. This could include (but is certainly not limited to) bereavement, addictions, stress, depression, anxiety, loss, relationship issues or behaviours that might be causing problems.
As a person centred therapist the way I work depends very much on the client’s needs. However, I am able to offer a variety of therapeutic techniques. For example I do use the same resources as NHS (IAPT) Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Practitioners so I can provide short term focussed therapy. This can be really helpful for issues such as sleeping or eating disruptions, anxiety, phobias, health anxiety etc. Many of the clients I work with are referred from GP practices and some do prefer a more solution orientated approach.
As a trained assessor I would be able to take the time to work out what approach would be best for you. It may be that only one or two sessions would be needed to get you back on track. I have worked with clients who have benefitted from just one session as well as clients who have complex mental health needs and need long term support.
We will work to a clear contract with regular reviews to make sure your goals and aims for the therapy are being met. Please be assured that I will try my absolute best for you, no matter what the issues are. I am certainly not here to judge or tell you what to do, but we can try to find a way to resolve those things that may have been on your mind for some time.
As a fully insured, Accredited and Registered Professional member of the The National Counselling Society as well as a Registered Professional member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) I am confident of providing the highest quality therapy. Being in a couple can sometimes become difficult. Help each other to understand one another better and work through issues that may be causing problems in your relationship. Identify destructive patterns of behaviour which may keep occurring. Learn better ways of communicating and work together to find a shared view of your futures. To improve your relationship and quality of life together.
Couples counselling can be a way of working together to improve your relationship. Also it can be a way of exploring if being a couple is the right thing for you both. Couples who are in agreement to separate or divorce can use couples counselling to check this is the right thing to do and if so to discuss how to go about the best way to go about a split.
