Hi
There are times in life when we feel a 'niggle' or a persistent uncomfortable feeling hanging over us and no matter what we do this 'niggle' does not seem to disappear. This can impact on our daily functioning in everyday life and our usual coping methods. Life can become a struggle and simple tasks become challenging and emotionally draining. The 'not knowing' and emotional barriers can affect our personal reactions and perceptions of life and others around us.
I offer a non-judgemental and empathetic approach and I am here to listen and explore inner thoughts and feelings which may connect to the past, present or future. I'm passionate about working at a clients pace with their emotional well-being remaining paramount at all times throughout the therapeutic process.
I consider myself to be a warm, caring and nurturing individual who strives to inspire and empower children, young people and adults from every age group. My key aim is to develop an individual's self-esteem, personal resilience and positive outlook when faced with demanding circumstances and emotional milestones we may come across in life.
I have a nursery nursing background and presently work as a school counsellor in a thriving primary school, working with a host of young people, adults and families in overcoming a variety of emotional barriers, challenging family dynamics, along with any additional issues. This may require a host of unique and specialised counselling techniques to suit the individual needs of either the young person, adult and their family.
My wealth of experience enables me to work therapeutically and collaboratively with both a young person and their parent/carer offering family therapy and valuable family support interventions that aim to encourage joint resilience, team building and a unique opportunity to express and explore difficult thoughts and emotions in a safe environment
