I think when starting counselling it can be tough to feel comfortable opening up to someone completely new. It is for this reason that I always aim to approach counselling with a relaxed, warm and laid back attitude, as being in the spotlight can undoubtedly feel intimidating at times. I work in a person centered way and seek to promote self-compassion, patience and tolerance as I strongly believe these qualities help to identify and erode internal conflict and criticism. I also really value building strong bonds with my clients, and seek to enter their worlds as fully as possible, as I know from my own therapeutic journey that feeling heard, understood and having someone who emotionally resonates with you are vital for building trust.
Having developed a strong intuitive capacity and energetic sensitivity through my Reiki practice I can offer energetic healing and insight alongside counselling if desired, as we verbally explore whatever issues feel most pertinent to you. This can be achieved remotely, as well as face to face. Though for the meantime I am afraid I will only be offering the former due to the current virus restrictions.
I like to work with different parts of our selves- identifying the characteristics which define each aspect of the self and how they rise to the surface in response to certain situations in our lives. In doing so I wish to support the retrieval and integration of parts which may have been rejected, dissociated or fragmented due to traumatic experiences.
I also offer hypnotherapy, which can be a powerful tool in helping to reprogram the subconscious mind; allowing us to transform unwanted patterns and access information or memory otherwise inaccessible to the conscious awareness.
