I am an integrative counsellor.I am an empathetic person who understands the importance of working in an anti-oppressive manner. I achieved this by practicing congruence, respecting my clients' individual needs. I understand the importance of embracing difference and diversity, treating everyone with respect. I am aware of the importance of confidentiality and its limitations outlined by BACP and NCS guidelines which is harmonious with IACP guidelines. My experience of practice has shown that building a trusting, therapeutic working relationship is an important element in supporting each client to achieve their individual goals.
Being an integrative counsellor has enabled me to assist each individuals using different/combination of theory and techniques suited to the clients and their specific issues which has resulted in client's becoming more motivated and self-aware in finding their own solution for the presented problematic issues, and shed the stuckness, by putting their suitable plan in action in resolving them and to have a more meaningful, happier life and shed the stuckness.
I have experience working with Anxiety, Depression, self harm, motivation, suicide, verbal/physical abuse, Bereavement, self Esteem, Anger, Abundant, Fear, and have supported clients while they cared for a parent fighting cancer and through their stages of grief. I have supported clients diagnosed with ASD and dyslexia to develop self awareness in relation to; strengths, self confidence, and motivation to make decisions for future.
