Professor Michael Jacobs

Member Status: Fellow Accredited

Member No: NCS16-03895

Location: Swanage

I have spent more than 50 years in the counselling and psychotherapy profession, and have taught the discipline for a considerable time mainly when I was at the University of Leicester. I have been retired for 20 years but in that time continued my practice as a therapist and supervisor, and over my career and retirement have written or edited over sixty books. My last book was a memoir of my career and the development of counselling in this country, in which I have played a part. It is “Fifty Years of Counselling: My Presenting Past”.

  • Qualifications & Experience
I have degrees from Oxford and the Open University, although my qualifications in psychotherapy and counselling come from training that many years ago was not certificated, from supervision and from a vast experience of working with clients and supervisees.
