Can Counselling REALLY HELP me? Absolutely, counselling can change how you live your life in many ways. From easing your distress, to learning many skills and techniques to create a life that is fulfilling.

"There is no mountain insurmountable, nor storm so rough, that should be travelled alone."

Life can bring many challenges and some are more easy than others to manage. We all need a little help, support and insight, to understand what we are going through, find direction and strength, and choose the right path ahead. It can be done! We can work together to untangle hurt, pain, confusion, and also to uncover your real values, strengths and start the journey toward a life you find both more peaceful and fulfilling - one that you can enjoy.

Fully qualified and trained as an integrative counsellor, I draw from a variety of models including Humanistic, Cognitive (including CBT), Psychodynamic, Positive Psychology, and Mindfulness, to provide best practice to help your individual worries, needs, and difficulties and find that better path!

So How can these help you???

Humanistic therapy is a great way to get to the real heart of matters as it prioritises your needs, your values, your beliefs, your life, as centre and the starting point for all healing...you walk your own shoes!

CBT focuses on how you are really thinking (which you may not even notice!), in the present, how it is serving you and ways it can be addressed if not, alongside weakening and retraining those connections in your mind to have more realistic, positive thought processes. It is very useful especially if you tend to be self critical or under confident.

Psychodynamic insight can help you become aware of underlying hurtful past influences and emotional affects, that led to poor self beliefs, and unhelpful emotional reactions and behaviours that prevent you from living fully in the present. We may fail to recognise these, but can become more conscious of them. In doing so , you will be able to develop compassionate understanding, have the opportunity to revisit and reframe those periods kindly, supportively, regain your power of choice, and implement new ways of living, gaining a road to freedom from the past and its holds upon you.

Positive Psychology uses many interventions to help you become more aware of your strength, gratitude's, and happiness in the moment, this boosts your self-esteem, energy and vitality. It aligns you toward a more balanced realistic view that we often dismiss when overwhelmed.

Mindfulness is incorporated within my therapy sessions alongside breathing, relaxation and grounding techniques. These help to provide you with the tools to strengthen your self care and begin to change anxious states or over thinking, to become clearer, more productive, and positive in outlook. As an example - how can you be less anxious if you are always breathing as if in danger?, Mindfulness will not only train your mind, but also your body to relax and value the here and now - just as you are.

Working together, these approaches can lead to a more relaxed, accepting, positive way of being. You can then move forward in beginning to see who you really are, what you want, your potentials, what you bring in life, and to make amazing goals for your road ahead!

Sessions are approx 50 minutes on a weekly basis, and I offer both short and long term therapy. I can provide private, confidential therapy in a very relaxed setting with free easy parking just outside.

Please feel free to contact me on 07902429787 or email me at goodtogocounselling@gmail.com (or see link above) to arrange your first session at any time, day or night, and I'll do my best to get back to you as soon as possible. I'd love to hear from you!
Warmest wishes
