Choosing the right therapist is an essential part of therapy and it is important that you find someone you feel comfortable with. I offer an initial free introductory telephone session which gives you the opportunity to meet me, talk through any questions and share your expectations. This session also gives you the opportunity to see whether counselling is right for you and whether I am the right person to support for you.
I have experience of working with a wide range of issues and I have been professionally trained in a variety of counselling theories/therapeutic approaches. This means I can tailor our sessions to your individual needs. Outside of my private practice I work as a Cruse Bereavement Volunteer and as a Volunteer Counsellor for a charity working with Rape and Sexual Abuse. I have also worked in a Primary School as a Place2Be counsellor.
As well as Counselling, I also offer a half hour session of Progressive Muscle Relaxation (PMR). This gives you an opportunity to relax and take some well-deserved time out. During the session I will guide you into complete relaxation by helping you to release all the tension in your body, from the top of your head to the tips of your toes. Once we have worked our way down the body, I can then help you to relax deeper by taking you on a visual, relaxing journey either through the woods, walking down into a meadow or floating in the sea. This really is half an hour of complete relaxation, just for you.
