Although psychodynamic theory and practice forms the core of my approach - as I think exploring the past and bringing to consciousness what is unconscious can be very important tools in understanding the present and gaining insight into our lives and choices - I also strongly believe in a pluralistic approach to therapy. I believe in working from what the client brings to the process, keeping them at the focus of the work, and adapting my practice - in as flexible a way as the bounds of my skills and knowledge permit - to ensure that it fits each individual client and what they hope to gain from the process.
I trained and qualified as a counselling psychologist in France. During the course of my training I most recently worked in a Palliative Care Unit offering counselling and psychotherapy sessions both to the inpatients and to their friends and families, and support to the staff; as well as prior to that in a maternity unit and surgical gynaecology ward and with children (individually and in groups) within a community setting.
I now work as an independent counselling psychologist with First Psychology in Edinburgh.
