I am empathic, caring and non-judgmental, offering you a safe and confidential space for you to explore whatever may be troubling you and to support you in developing skills and strategies in which to cope with life’s challenges and dealing with adversity.

I have worked with adults as well as children and young people within schools from 8 to 18 years. Using an integrative approach, I draw on different techniques and approaches to suit each client to enable them to explore themselves fully and understand the processes behind thoughts and behaviours.

Having worked with young people within an SEMH school with needs including autism, oppositional defiant disorder and global delay, I understand the need to communicate in different ways, using audio, visual and kinesthetic methods. Patience, consistency and boundaries also help to create the safe and nurturing space to enable trust to build in the therapeutic relationship.

My aim is to promote people's autonomy and to bring their unconscious processes into their awareness in order for them to gain a deeper understanding of their thoughts and behaviours which in turn will lead to making more conscious decisions.

I am able to work with what is presented, including trauma, anxiety, anger, bullying, relational issues, self-esteem, self-harm, depression and eating disorders. I have also worked with survivors of sexual abuse.

I can offer online sessions or one to one sessions in Canterbury. I also provide walking/outdoor therapy in Canterbury and Tankerton (along the beach) as I understand that some people find it easier to talk whilst out in nature giving them a sense of freedom in order to unburden themselves.
