Counselling seeks to enable clients to address their difficulties and make the life changes needed to overcome them and improve their health and well-being.

I offer the opportunity for you to talk through your thoughts and feelings in a safe, private and confidential setting.

I use a client led approach, which means working with you, at your pace, to help you understand what you are experiencing, together we can explore what is right for you. I find the most important thing is to establish a trusting therapeutic relationship to enable you to feel safe to work through your difficulties.

I have worked in several different settings, including a secondary school, a GP's surgery, a college of further education and in private practice. I have experience in individual personal therapy with adults and young people and also with couples and small groups.

Often taking that first step is the hardest part. Maybe you feel unsure about talking to a counsellor. I suggest an initial free 20-30 minute meeting by phone or video call to discuss what is on your mind and how we might work together - this gives you an opportunity to make sure that counselling feels right for you at this time and to make sure I'm the right counsellor for you. If you decide you'd like to work with me we can then talk about when and how often you'd like to come.

I am a Senior Accredited member of the National Counselling Society (NCS) and registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). Both of these associations ensure that their members are appropriately trained and qualified. I work to their codes of ethics.
