People, like yourself come to counselling often not knowing what to expect, this is fine because this is where I am able to offer support, to help you find the answer to, or acceptance of, your own personal experiences.
I have supported and worked with clients through a wide range of issues. My commitment to you is to offer a safe, confidential and non-judgemental environment to work at your own pace through your personal issues and dilemmas. I offer a space in which you can express, explore, and reflect on the difficulties you are experiencing, with the aim of growing in your self-awareness and personal development to become the person you want to be.
As a supportive and experienced therapist providing a calm and confidential environment for clients to explore their difficulties, I aim to provide a quality, individually tailored counselling service. I believe that the experience of sharing difficult feelings; of being heard and not judged can be freeing and empowering. I understand that coming to counselling can be an unknown for many people who have never experienced it before, yet we all have times in our lives when we find it hard to cope and counselling can help you understand why you think, feel and act the way you do. It can help you develop positive strategies to get what you desire and need from your life.
I work with a pluralistic approach, combining person centred counselling with other approaches and tools that together we can employ to find your way forward. I offer an approach that encourages you to explore thoughts, feelings and emotions in a confidential environment.
Your problems are real and will significantly affect how you feel, interpret, behave and interact with other people and can affect you at any time. Counselling can help to unlock new ways of doing things and support you, as you find your own solutions to your problems to make the most of your life. The benefit of this type of counselling is that clients are helped to become more self-aware, and more in control of creating positive changes.
