Counselling is a passive therapy which is becoming increasingly popular for individuals who find themselves struggling with the pressures of the modern world we live in anxiety is now part of this. I believe everyone holds the answers to their own issues and relationships but sometimes need help and guidance in finding these answers. It may be a relationship that is challenging, anxiety, stress, low self-esteem, financial or anger issues or you may have past experiences that are still impacting your life today. You may also have a child that is personally struggling with life at the moment. Talking to a trained therapist without any agenda other than trying to aid their client to find their way forward, enables the individual to thoroughly explore their feelings, thoughts and emotions in a safe, contained and non judgmental way. I work with the person as a whole, not just the problem.
I come from a integrative background however I will use different techniques and strategies that are best suited for each person and situation. Dependent on what your needs require I offer therapy long term and short term. We will agree that between us as I believe the relationship should be a joint, collaborative one where counsellor and client work together towards the client's ultimate goal.
I work with adults and have worked extensively with children professionally so have lots of relevant experience to draw upon and will often use alternative tools to aid the work such as CBT or art with my clients if talking is not enough.
I offer sessions Monday to Thursday evenings. I also work all day Fridays and Saturday so there convenient for you.
I originally trained as a counsellor after struggling personally as a parent after my own child had difficulties. I myself received counselling and came to understand how powerful and helpful it could be and how receiving it is nothing to be ashamed of if you are finding life hard.
Please, get in touch with a call, text or email to set up a free 30 minute initial session. We can talk about you and what you want to get out of counselling.
If you are happy to continue we can then agree a regular time for ongoing appointments.
