Hi, if you have got this far in looking for some help firstly I want to say well done for taking this step. Getting help for yourself or someone you care about can be daunting so dont under estimate this first step!
The focus of my counselling service is around young people, young adults and/or their families.
This time of life is complicated for teens and adolescents. So many changes, so many hormones, new stresses & pressure through friendships, school decisions and exams to name but a few, add in the want for independence, whilst not quite having full control and you have a complicated world to manage.  With all this its no wonder so many young people struggle from time to time.
Let's not underestimate the stress and worry this brings to parents and families as well though. The change in dynamic when a child becomes a teenager is big and the role of a parent also shifts. All these changes can be uncomfortable and disrupt family life.
The great news is there is a way through. By supporting a Young Person with counselling sessions they can begin to make the changes they want, see a new perspective and gain self confidence and emotional control. I also offer support to parents whilst their child is making these changes. If a parent can gain insight to understand the process their child is going through and how best they can support them then you have a winning combination.
This is the service I offer. 121 sessions with young people and if needed support to parents during this process. A system that enable the young person to develop and find themselves whilst, if needed, supporting the parents to understand the changes being made and how they can further support at each stage. These changes bring back the stability and happiness family life is about.
