As a qualified counsellor, I provide a safe, confidential, and non-judgemental environment where I can help you gain insight into the less conscious aspects of your thinking, behaviour and feelings. I can offer brief focused counselling where we can address a current situation, as well as longer term psychotherapy where we can work together to explore deeper rooted difficulties which may have built up over time as a result of your earliest experiences.
My role as therapist is to help you find clarity and perspective so you can build healthy relationships and better manage your internal world. Over time, you will gain your own insights allowing you to feel more in control and able to trust in your own strengths and internal resources, allowing you to make the changes needed to improve your life and well-being.
Therapy is a rewarding personal experience between people. It requires commitment and effort on both sides. There will be times that it may be challenging as we explore parts of ourselves we might prefer to avoid or feel are unacceptable. If we are willing to take the risk, within the safety of the therapeutic space, counselling rewards us with a deeper understanding of ourselves and enriches our lives with more awareness and meaning.

I practice as an integrative counsellor, which means I use my knowledge of various therapeutic models whilst working with you. This allows me the freedom and flexibility to work in a way which suits YOU as an individual: I fit with you, instead of you fitting into a therapeutic model.
I am a counsellor at Bridgwater and Taunton College. Here, I work with a wide age group, from sixteen-year-olds who are just starting out, to mature students who may be retraining and members of staff. This work has allowed me to gain experience in many different areas of counselling. I also volunteer with Mind where I specialise in working with those bereaved by suicide.
