Hi! I am a qualified integrative counsellor. I work online. This means that my sessions take place on platforms such as Zoom, WhatsApp, Google Meet etc.. I am a warm and open person, and my aim is to give you the space and time, in a kind and empathic way, to work through whatever is causing disruption to your life and move towards positive change.
The advantage of online therapy is that you can access your therapy sessions wherever you are, as long as the space you are in is private and you feel safe.
As your counsellor I can help and support you to explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours by talking openly and freely in our therapy sessions. Sometimes it can be difficult to understand why we feel the way we do. In our sessions I can help you make sense of how you feel, bring a fresh perspective and help you make positive changes in your life.
The foundation of my approach is Person-Centred, but I also use techniques from other modalities, as appropriate. When working with my clients I am open-minded and genuine. I relate to you and what you are experiencing in your life without any judgement. I will help you regularly review your progress and move towards positive change in your life.
I work with loss through bereavement, stress, depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, exam anxiety, social anxiety, work-related issues, confidence building, and anything else that may be hindering your life.
I am on the register of the National Counselling Society, accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
I have a current, clean enhanced DBS certificate, and professional indemnity insurance.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
After your initial enquiry over the phone or via email, we will arrange a time for an online meeting and consultation, which is free of charge. If you are not sure how to set this up, I will help you, This consultation is very much like a first counselling session. We will discuss the reasons you are looking for a counsellor and your goals, and I can answer any questions you have about the process of therapy. If you feel you want to go ahead, we will then arrange a regular time to meet online for your therapy sessions.
There is no obligation after the consultation to go ahead with counselling. This free session will give you the chance to see how it feels to talk about your worries and whether talking to me feels right for you. It will help you in making your decision and knowing if you are ready to go ahead and engage in therapy.
