At the heart of how I work is the belief that everyone's choices and experiences are understandable if we give the time and attention to understanding them. No matter where you are in your life, it is my belief that you have been doing your best with the resources and experiences you've had so far. When we are supported it becomes more possible to gain insight into the ways we feel limited, to acknowledge and release the feelings that can keep us stuck and to find new ways to move through difficulty. Therapy can provide a chance to heal from the hurts that accumulate within us and help us find the resources to meet life fully.

I'm a qualified, experienced counsellor and psychotherapist working in Totnes, South Devon. I will meet you with openness and compassion, offering a heart-felt and grounded space to gently explore how you came to seek therapy and what will help you to thrive.

People come to see me with broad questions. This can be about their experiences as a child, how those are affecting life today; difficulties with family, work, relationships and wellbeing; as well as specific issues they want to work through with a supportive listener, such as divorce, addiction, health problems, grief or traumatic experiences. Sometimes, a simple feeling that life isn’t quite turning out how you hoped, can be the starting point for a conversation with a therapist.

Through our time together, you may find that new ways of relating to yourself and the world around you become possible.

Experiencing for myself the joys and challenges of being a parent, I am passionate about supporting other parents to resource themselves and have an opportunity to parent in the way they want to. I have experienced firsthand the benefits for the whole family when a parent is able to feel their own needs are attended to. I draw upon the practice of connection-based parenting and have extensive experience of working in partnership with parents to help lighten the emotional load they are carrying.

I offer one to one sessions from my home as well as video call and telephone sessions.

I offer both short and long-term support. It may be that you don’t know how many sessions you want to have, this is ok too.
