Hello, my name is Lucy, and I am a Psychotherapeutic Counsellor. I am naturally warm and approachable and have experience working with both adults and children from Primary School age upwards.
I provide a safe and comfortable environment where you will feel listened to, in a trusted confidential and non-judgemental way. Working together, our sessions will give you the time and opportunity to explore and understand any issues you may be dealing with, past or present.
I understand that it can be very stressful to talk about your own struggles and share your distress with someone else. After all, we are all encouraged to ‘keep going’. I strive to create a warm and secure therapeutic space for my clients, through a careful blend of the treatment room I work in and the atmosphere I create.
I provide both non-judgmental acceptance and empathic support. I will listen to you intently and explore your inner world thoughtfully, whilst drawing on and sharing my understanding and clinical expertise to help you to make sense of what’s happening. I will help you to create a fresh perspective which will be reflected in your thoughts and behaviour.
I will not try to offer you a so-called ‘expert’s version of a solution. Rather, I provide therapeutic work tailored to suit your individual needs, whilst acting as a facilitator to help you to develop your own ways of managing your individual issues. This not only helps to develop self-acceptance but also strengthens and supports the innate self-healing process.
