Gemma Ryder, Dip. Couns., MNCPS Acc., Qualified and NCPS accredited counsellor, Transactional Analysis practitioner and trauma-focused therapist, specialising in vision impairment, sight loss and disability. Lead counsellor at Kent Association for the Blind.
I provide counselling and psychotherapy, using Transactional Analysis, including trauma-focused therapy. I work with individual clients and groups.
I am lead counsellor at Kent Association for the Blind. Our holistic service supports vision impaired clients with a range of issues, including recent sight loss.
In addition to specialist experience working with vision impaired and disabled clients, I also have significant experience in working with domestic violence and childhood abuse which has lead me to practice in a trauma informed way.
Since training as a counsellor over 25 years ago, my work and continuous, ongoing trainings have been focussed on psychotherapy, disability and supporting trauma survivors.
I also bring my experience as a doula, supporting new parents for 13 years, and was the founder of Blind Parents UK, supporting visually impaired mothers nationwide.
