I'm Wendy and I'm a counsellor offering face-to-face sessions in Sheffield S10, and telephone/video call appointments.

I believe counselling can help with a range of issues. You may want to feel more confident, calm, capable or comfortable, to develop better relationships or find your way out of a rut. You may not be sure what you need, and that's fine as well.

Counselling can help by giving you the opportunity to talk through whatever is troubling you. Feeling heard and understood can in itself be therapeutic; but it can also offer a greater sense of clarity, self-worth, optimism, and motivation. Talking through your thoughts and feelings can help you process strong emotions, lay the past to rest, understand yourself better, or to start to shape a happier future.

Some of the issues I have helped people with include; Bereavement, loss, illness, anxiety, phobias, trauma, abuse, stress, work-related stress, bullying, identity and self-esteem issues, life transitions, low mood, shame, anger, relationship and interpersonal difficulties.

My approach is humanistic, meaning it is based on respect for you as a self-governing and unique individual. I believe emotional distress is rooted in life experiences, so my outlook is non-medical and non-judgemental. I take a collaborative approach, where I bring my knowledge and experience, but you are the expert on you. I don't set an agenda for sessions or hold any expectations as to how therapy will progress or how many sessions you should have.

I am fully qualified and a registered accredited member of the National Counselling Society. I offer face-to-face appointments to individual adults.

My experience includes 7 years within an NHS Occupational Health team, plus concurrently, 3 years working in local charities and 5 years in private practice.

If you would like any further information, you are very welcome to browse my website, give me a call or drop me an email.
