Hi, we all need some support sometimes. My name is Rowena. I can listen and help you find your way through the fog. Let me show you strategies to help you manage the anxiety, re-build your self-esteem and find your own way through. The magic for me is being part of your journey as you embrace growth and learn to trust your emotions.
I am qualified as a counsellor using integrative psychotherapy and CBT. A particular area of interest is neurodiversity (ways in which people process information differently from each other eg people with ADHD or Autism) and how that interacts with mental health:
- anxiety
- depression
- frustration/anger
- self-esteem
- relationships
- shame
- experience of trauma
However, I do also see a range of clients who experience these mental health issues who are not considered neurodiverse.
Another area of interest is carer support. Those whose mental health is impacted because of the responsibilities they have caring for others. It can be surprising how easily we neglect our own emotions when we are focused on other people.
I have had a varied career journey that has led me to finding answers for myself to life’s challenges and providing therapy to support others to do the same. I am currently a PCN Wellbeing Advisor with Havant & East Hants Mind moving from Solent Mind's Wellbeing Service in Fareham & Gosport where I worked for 9 years. I carried out my placement work within the Solent NHS Talking Change service in Portsmouth.
I love supporting people to improve their experience of life. Moving to a different area has prompted me to continue this independently as well as continuing my work with Havant & East Hants Mind.
I hold a current Enhanced DBS and am registered on the Update Service.
