I am a person centered counselor who is warm, friendly and approachable. I aim to create a safe and confidential space with you in which we can work together to help you understand issues that maybe be troubling you. I work hard to ensure that you will feel heard and listened to and no longer feel alone with your problems.
I provide a private, face to face counselling service in Ilfracombe for people within the North Devon area or I can provide a counselling service on line for those that are too far away or cannot travel.
I have a specialism for working with children and adolescents but will happily see adults too.
I have had a long and varied experience of working with clients and differing mental health issues. I am a qualified psychiatric nurse having specialised in working with the elderly and eating disorders. During my time nursing in London, I volunteered at a mental health helpline called SANEline. I also explored an interest in family therapy and I achieved a certificate in Family Systems Therapy.
I moved to North Devon in 2001 and during my time here I have been involved with running a small business as well as developing my counselling skills. I have worked in a mediation agency as well as volunteering my services to a charity offering reduced price counselling to those who need it most. I have managed and provided counselling at a local secondary school for the past 3 years and during this time I have developed a specialism in child and adolescent counselling. I am now ready to continue to develop my private practice.
I believe I offer a counselling service with my energy, enthusiasm and positivity which I channel into my work with clients, so that together we can work to explore and identify any psychological difficulty the client maybe living with and to help to aid self discovery, greater personal understanding and personal enlightenment.
