I am a qualified CBT Therapist and Counsellor (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) and passionate about psychological health and wellbeing and how CBT can help change and enhance people’s lives. I am trained to work with adults and adolescents. My training covers Integrative counselling and psychotherapy which gives me a broad range of knowledge, skills and tools.
The core CBT model I use is Rational Emotive Behavioural Therapy and from there I integrate treatment techniques where appropriate and beneficial for the client from Cognitive Therapy, Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy, Schema Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing).
After completing my first degree at Oxford University, I spent 15 years working in businesses where I held a number of senior roles, responsible for large teams and budgets, across different business functions. I gained a great deal of insight about how people respond in pressurised situations and I now apply this experience in my psychotherapy work. I chose to re-train after having my second child as this is a profession that I felt passionate about. I love empowering people to understand and manage destructive thoughts, feelings, and behaviours that impact so greatly on their wellbeing and achievement.
I have co-founded a private practice (ww.EnhanceMindset.co.uk) where I work with adults and adolescents using CBT. I also work for the Priory, Canterbury as a Sessional CBT Therapist.
