Life throws all of us many challenges from our past, relationships, work and health. These include anxiety, depression, anger, shame and guilt. Often, these emotions reveal themselves with over thinking, catastrophising irritability, feeling out of kilter, phobias, panic attacks, OCD, eating disorders, outbursts or seeming detached.
I totally feel that such challenges can be overcome with empathetic, non-judgemental, creative and experienced support. The positive changes built help us move on, achieve our personal goals, enjoy life to its fullest, experience joy and have fun!
The first step when working together is for me to listen and fully understand you as a person - past and present. We then jointly agree the key emotion you would like to work on and the trigger(s) for it, identify the key problem to be resolved and then set a goal which we work towards. The focus is always on working to provide clients with the greatest psychological benefit as quickly as possible
Along the way, current unhealthy beliefs are identified and a healthier set is built which help clients move towards. This requires personal change, which is supported through increased self-awareness, exercises, analogies and building self-esteem. Humour is also helpful!
Sessions have a focus on “quick wins” and results, which involves understanding, straight talking, some work between sessions and a solid client relationship.
