I am a fully qualified pluralistic counsellor and psychotherapist. I am also a qualified hypnotherapist. Counselling and psychotherapy can mean different things for different people, but in general it is a process people seek when they want to change something in their lives or simply explore their thoughts and feelings in more depth; particularly if this is causing them distress.

Whatever a client seeks therapy for, the issue and/or concern is unique to them. Every client is different and no issue or concern is the same. I work collaboratively with my clients, using different tools and techniques that best support the client. The therapeutic relationship can be short or long term in duration and is totally dependent on the clients needs.

My work is diverse and includes seeing clients in my own private practice; Amanda Tooms Therapy and Wellbeing, as well as vocational and university settings, where I specialise in working within the performing arts and academic industries I also work within a community setting at LCCM and freelance for Applause for Thought, Wellbeing in the Arts and Southcote Maidstone. I have also worked for the charity Mind.
